Why is the app business name so important

Android app making is meant to be a fun experience, however, for many an app business is the key to the perfect work/life balance and the want to get it right can get stressful. The question that needs to be asked is, how do you make sure that your apps will be successful? One of the most overlooked tips is something as small as the name of your app.

1: Use a key word tool such as Google Adwords – This tool will help show which keywords are being searched for and therefore you can see how you can incorporate this into your app name.  What you are looking for is the maximum of three words which are being searched for at any given time.

2: Trial and Error – Whether you like it or not, you should be releasing your app using different keywords to trial which are helping you rack up more downloads. The more downloads you are getting the more successful your app will be.

3: Relevance – make sure the keywords that you choose are relevant to your app. If you are managing to get 2000 downloads a day using your new keywords but then over 50% of these downloads are then deleted this will seriously affect your app rankings for the worse. Keywords but be app relevant.

4: Competition – Make sure your competition has not already used the keywords you are planning on using as this will be counterproductive. What you can do though is look at the keywords your competitors are using as a way of getting some ideas of which style of keywords work. Also look at the competition rating within Adwords, this will show you if they are high or not. If the competition rate is high, this means that many people are using this keyword and therefore it may not be the most affective for you.
