What is Affiliate Advertising?
Affiliate is another way of saying ‘promote someone else and earn money’ in other words you act as the middleman getting the audience to another product. Affiliate advertising is a way of promoting products online via a third party on your app and in return you earn money. How many times have you been on Facebook and seen adverts appearing on the side of your page that are linked to the content on your profile? This is high end affiliate advertising, a company pays Facebook every time someone clicks through from that link to their page.
How do you make money from banner ads?
There are a few different ways in which you can be paid for having banners on your app, they are: pay-per-click, pay-per-lead and pay-per-sale.
One way to earn money
In order to know which of these styles best suits your needs you need to firstly understand what these styles mean and also which of these styles best suits your audience type. Once you decide upon your choice you can then research which affiliate advertising company would be best for you.
Pay per click – This form of advertisement means that you will earn a small fee each time someone clicks through to an advertisement from your app. This is the most common type of affiliate advertising and tends to pay the smallest percentage of revenue. The reason it is so common is because it has a higher rate of clicks than someone actually purchasing or filling in a form from a banner ad.
Pay-per-lead - These banner ads will give you a payment once a customer completes a form, or signs up for an offer after clicking from the banner ad to the advertisement website.
Pay-per-sale - This is what it says, you will get a payment based upon a sale that has resulted from the lead on your banner ad, this will result in the highest percentage of revenue but you really need to know your audience well to know if they are likely to purchase from the advertisements.
